Blood test was taken - that was ok, but not heard regarding results as some were out of range - no advice or explanation from GP

Suggested improvements
Explanation and advice - follow up as was always given by GPS in past by phone or face to face.

I understand being triaged. But sometimes it would be nice to just ask for an appointment without giving personal details to a receptionist.

Suggested improvements
I don't like being asked for my reasons to speak to a doctor. It's really personal, and can be embarrassing talking to someone who isn't medically trained. You could also put 'White British' at the top of the ethnic groups to choose from . I find it quite insulting to be at the bottom.

I guess my frustration is the narrow window of opportunity of successfully getting through to make an appt. I’m sure you must hear this all the time. And I suspect everyone else must say you hear this all the time. Added to my circumstance is my lack of hearing. I cannot do anything while trying to call or being on hold and when waiting for the phone to ring, again, I can’t even put it on my pocket as I will not hear it. Totally personal to me of course and not your fault, it’s just how it is but from trying to get through until waiting for a phone call pretty much wastes a day for me.

Suggested improvements
Just a more efficient way of making an appt

A need for a repeat of a usual prescription for Shingles, Acyclovir, having come to the end of a box and another attack had started with all usual painful symptoms. Tried App first- The NHS app is limited to prescription requests only, and will not take any other requests. An email to the surgery with the request brought the email reply to phone the next day at 8am. Couldn't wait till next day so made a phone call that afternoon with a receptionist who said there was nothing on the notes, and to call the next day.The phone call next morning at 8am had an automatic reply of too busy, try later, after trying a bit later eventually got into a queue, then spoke to a receptionist, Dr called back some 3 hours later, confirmed request as normal, when going later in afternoon to pick up prescription, told they'd run out and it had to be ordered, hopefully for the next afternoon.... Dr agreed to a full blood screen, and that , thankfully was organised quickly in person at the surgery, and the Nurse seen was absolutely brilliant.

Suggested improvements
There are obviously many more people trying to access the surgery in Ninfield, and things naturally change.... But, the electronic systems supposedly backing up the surgery are not helping, they're too limited in adding information, and email conversation through different receptionists is impersonal and abrupt. The demography of the over 50's really needs the reassurance of a voice first, then a face to face with THEIR Doctor. I haven't seen a Doctor face to face for years..... there are things I really need to talk about, but I can't by App or email, or even on the phone with someone who I've never had contact with before. In these days when mental health has become an accepted reality, and something that people should be readily able to talk about: it's unfortunately easier for older people (over 50's,60's) to just not bother when confronted with such a difficult, impersonal system. The mantra for so many now is..."what's the point....". More in person communication with a regular Doctor please.
